1986 Big Red stator question

I've been looking around for a stator for my 86 250es and cant seem to find any for an 86 however I see many that are for 85 250es & sx. The plugs look the same but the stator looks slightly different, such as the 85 having exposed windings and the 86 has epoxied windings. Has anyone had any success using the stator from a 1985, or does anyone know of any other stators that will work. Thanks

i looked up your big red stator part number is 31120-HA0-771 then i checked my honda cross reference and stators from 85 to 87 250 es are the same and 85 to 87 250 ex are the same and 85 to 86 trx 250 fourtrax are the same meaning all these bikes use the same stator hope this helps

85 and 86-87 look different but are interchangeable.If i'm correct you just need to swap the whole stator cover with the stator of the same year
