I got a quick question about my three wheeler. its a 1985 yamaha tri moto 225 dx. i was running it and it staled randomly. when i tryed to re start it it wouldent. there is pleny of gas so i checked the spark none. My first thought was the coil was bad on it. but i did a home made test i have a yamaha snowmobile that has the same plug in for the coil so i pluge the three wheeler one in and it ran off of it. So the coil isent bad changed it anyway and still no spark. what could be the problem with it? thanks to anyone who can help>

I have the same wheeler. It did the same thing to me and it ended up being the cdi box.

A poor mans test is extreme temperature change. Hold a hair dryer to it until it gets good and warm and try to start the bike. If that does not work, put it in the freezer for a while. This has worked many times on my 185 and 200 Hondas. It is not a fix, but a test and if it makes spark, and the bike pops, you know you have a bad CDI.
I seen a kid warm his by holding it under his arm pit after breaking down on a trail- it got him back to the truck and made me a beliver.
