185s carb problems

Hey guy,i have a 82 185s i i put an extra carb i had laying around whitch also came off of a 185s,anyways i bolted it on hooked everything up started it,it was running wide open and smoking like crazy,the slide is in right,i put the carb from my other 185s on it and it ran great,thanks for any help

my money is on the slide being 180 deg out

You sure you didnt put a 200x carb on with a 185s slide EXC .
Harry is most likly correct you have the slide 180 out .

try putting the jets from the 1 that works into the other carb and adjust the new carb to the same as the old one .. if the carbs are the same size then it will work .. also make sure the c clip on the needle is in the same spot also make sure the needle is the same as the other one.

as far as the slide being stuck open it sounds like its 180 out
