I have a choice to buy a honda 200.. not sure what kind.. ES, M, or S?? wanna say its an 84 or 85. and It looks in ok shape.. body isn't all cracked up. missing recoil starter.. and he said it will crank but it needs a timing chain to be perfect.. He wants 50 bucks. I have a choice for another that apparently has every part on it and it looks much better but he says it needs a head gasket to run and it hasn't ran in 4 years so a GOOD carb cleaning to. but he wants 250 for that one. Im tryin to decide whther to spend the 50 and fix the one. or 250?? what would alot of you guys look for to sway your decision or which would you go for

They are from different owners.. If it was the same person it might be an option.. having both would be sweet tho

i would check for play in the rear wheels and swingarm and front forks . the condition of the wheels and tires look for any defects, missing bolts or rounded bolt heads and check the frame for any signs of breaks or rewelds hell even take a look at the plug and air filter just to get a ballpark on what kind if any routine maintenance has or has not been done
im fairly new here but thats just what i would look into sounds like you know what the motor situation is and if it hasnt run in four years the gas tank will need a good cleaning / coating the whole motor prob needs gone through so id say 250 is too much.

ok.. thanks for your help if anyone else has any input please feel free to chime in.. How fun are the 125's to ride.. Im about 185 pounds and 6 foot tall so I want the bigger one but I can get a 125 for 30 bucks from a buddy and he says it just needs rings but who knows. I Have a rancher 420 but I want something to cruise dirt roads on and look silly lol

I have an '84 125m, it's not the fastest thing on 3 wheels, but it really is a blast to ride on trails - keep the revs up, and it throws dirt just like the big bikes. Plus the low range really helps on tight, technical sections and hillclimbs. I'm 44, 6 ft, 220 lbs, and I look like a big kid flying down the trails on that thing.

yea I think im just gonna wait and spend the 200 on the nice one.. the other two are cheap and are right there for the taking when I want them.. the other one is from an owner i dont know and looks like the cheapest/easiest fix.
