I'm new here guys and need a little help. Have an 85 Tri Moto 200 that dies everytime so go up on 2 wheels on the right side, or even tip it to the right even slightly. It only does it when you tip it to the right or sometimes dies when you go over several dips in a row. I thought it was the carb, but I took the carb off of my other identical trike and it done the same exact thing. I also changed the fuel filter and done it with a full tank of fuel thinking it was starving for fuel since the fuel line is on the left side. It sounds like it is getting to much fuel since it sounds like it is back firing a little through the exaust, it is a 4 stroke and is only pull start, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rebuild you carb(I don't mean clean, new floats/springs, needle and jets can be reused if straight and clean)...the fact you have a 2nd 20yr old carb means very little. You could trace the electrical and look for a possible spot that maybe grounding out??

Thanks for the fast reply. The other carb that I put on is in perfect working order and was rebuilt in the spring and operates my other Tri perfectly, so I just found it hard to believe that it could be a carb problem, if both carbs are doing the same thing and I know that the 2nd carb is just fine.

check the plug first. but to me it sounds like both of the needle in the carbs aren't seating properly

The only difference on my trike then my buddies is that his choke cable is all original and much longer then mine, mine barely reaches the front of the gas tank, and on these they run under the tank and into the front of the handlebars. Possibly mine is not the factory one and is not seating properly in the carb, then when it is leaned in that direction it is flooding itself out? The choke cable is the only thing that we didn't swap out today, but like I said, my carb works perfect on his YTM 200 but not on mine when it is leaned to the right side.
