so my buddy calls me up tonight and says he found a Big Red, he knows i have been looking everywhere for one at a decent price. Thing is I'm layed up for a while from a drunk driver t-boneing me, so i got no money to spend on anything buy nessecities right now. Anyways he said depending on the price he would just pick it up for me since ive done so much work for him on various stuff without ever asking for a penny in return. so without further adu, here it is.....

oh, by the way, it does come with the motor and front tire/axle

Definately no more than 100. Chances are the guy will never put it back together so he will probably take it.

I would haul it out for nothing... Thats gonna be an expensive one to put back together....

I'd pass on that one. My rule on anything with a motor it has to at a minimum turn over. If the motor is gone! It should be free. Unless dead set on having it then plan on keeping it forever and money isn't a factor. I'd save money and wait for something else to pop up. The way things are with the ecomnomy people selling more toys for less in the years to come. I search CL & Ebay everyday and i see stuff i haven't seen in years popping up. They are just asking to much. Be patient.

I'd pay you for that front rack if you bought it. If it has the engine and it turns over it may be worth more than $50-$150.

100 bucks tops, maybe $150 if you already had an '85 205es and the parts on that one were in GREAT condition. Just my $0.02

Big Red Parts are plentiful. However, not always cheap. You can find a decent looking runner for under $800.00. I would say if you could get it in the $50-100 range go for it. If all else fails you can part it for that. Anymore I would pass. IMO

So I got in touch with the guy personally, got him down to 50 bucks! The thing is about an hour and a half away so round trip will cost me about 40 bucks round trip in the old Z71, after talking to the guy it is all there just needs to be put back together, he says that the crank behind the flywheel broke and thats why the motor was takin out, thinks the new part is in the box but not 100% positive. So basically if its not there I need to get a new one and get new rear fenders, any ideas how much that will cost me?

I will have to get the wheeler in my possesion first, from what the guy is claiming all it needs is the crank and he might have the new one so i will have to wait and see what the scoop is i guess

50 bucks aint bad if it's mostly there.

ya he says he has everything to put it back together, may or may not need a new crank, well it definatly needs one but hes not sure where the one he bought for it years ago is! is the crank an expensive part? how hard to change?
