1983 ATC 185 chain repair

i just got this atc today, and was riding for a few hours, the guard that encloses the chain was loose, but didnt think it would be a prob, but i got a little branch in it (i think) and the chain fell off. Is there a very simple fix for this that anybody can tell me, or do i have to take it apart to get it back on? any help would be great!!!! THANKS

The sprocket cover comes off and you should be able to get the chain back on. There are adjusters on the rear hub that you can use to tighten it up.

i removed the whole guard from mine.much easier to maintain chain

Its alot easier to deal with chain problems if you just take the cover off and put it on a shelf.

thanks again for the very quick reply. i wasnt sure if my chain was loose, but now after a few days i think it is, when i begin to accelerate it feels like the chain is "skipping" for just a split second almost a clicking sound. which one is the adjuster? if i had to guess it looks like a nut on a long bolt that just to the right of the rear sprocket. i would experiment, but i dont want to screw it up worse
