View Full Version : ATC 110 spiiting out oil through cap

my 1979 atc 110 is spitting out oil trough the oil cap port, at first i thought it had too much oil but i drained it today and it was actually low and i notice it spits more out as i gas it up and no smoke coming out from the exahoust i added a pic of my it cap so yo can see the port where it's spitting out the oil , what can it be? thanks everyone

You could need a gasket underneath there, if it doesn't have one...

where exactly should the gasket go?

On the dipstick, at the very top, so when you screw it on, it'll seal. You might want to go with a flat cork gasket over a ring rubber one, it'll fit more flush :)

you need to run a vent hose from the port in the side to some where high and out of the way on the frame, most run up em up and out the back of the trike. or you could splice it into the crankcase vent hose going into the air filter but you will need atleast 4 inches of verticle tubing so you dont keep losing oil, hope this helps.

Yes you have to run a vent hose from the top of that dip stick you have an old after market stick that was made for big bore motors as it was to let excess oil breath during running so you wouldnt blow any gaskets or anything
