Keep your right foot handy with the brake pedal. Use the throttle and rear brake to get comfortable at the balance point.

Find your balance point without the bike running, and use the rear grab bar to help out :)

back breaks bring the front down and throttle it back up right . so i just got to find the comfy medium then eh ? foot on the grab bar seem a little like cheeting to me but i bet it would help to get a feel for things . anyone shift gears while riding wheelies ? and if not what gear works best i try em in third to keep the motor from reving too much ? maybe second for more torque ?
thanks for the tips guys.

When I'm riding wheelies on the 200x or Tecate 2nd gear seems to work best.

It looks great, sounds great, runs great. No drawbacks. You can't beat old school cool either. I just wish I could find a Bassani for the Tri-zinger. :-)

you know your getting good when not only can you upshift through your gears but downshift as well(that took me awhile to master) Basically find your balance point, and practice practice practice..

best way to do it is is start out by useing trailprotrailpro back bar and keeping it in 2ed or 3ed and just keep going off and on the gas thne whne u can do that and go a ways.try starting in 2ed and going to 3ed.do that for a ways and then sit down.and start in (n) rever up and puter in 1st.to get it up as soon as u do.let off and go to 2ed thne keep going then 3ed and after time ull be going in 5th .thats how i did it and i can go in 5th on the bar on the back wheels

My advice would be to intentionally go over the back several times at low speed. You will learn two things: how to safely and quickly exit, and how far you can really go before it's too far. It's always funny to me to see someone with their front wheel about a foot off the ground and wonder why they can't ride a wheelie. A good way to learn might be to practice on a mountain bike. It will make you appreciate balance over raw power.

On the 600X I could ride a wheelie thru every gear, but could only downshift thru a couple (luckily it had a lot of torque so you didn't have to downshift much). My best wheelie was up and down two (2) sets of dunes continuously. I've gone off the back of the 350X in 5th gear too many times to count...

Wheelies are not my thing, I like sliding. My advice is 3rd gear, just bliped the throttle, clutch out and pull back. I get my x up so easy. it makes it interesting some times on the trail.

I don't use 5th or 6th unless im on the road on my trail btw. I have to get my breaks working, until then i have to go "slow".

i used to haul ass on a wheelie on my old 350x in 5th gear, man i miss that thing:cry:

my brother pulls up in 1st and rides out to 5th, he can go like a half mile then runs out of gear

this is one of his little wheelies

You can always put one knee on the seat with your foot on the grab bar and the other foot where it belongs, lean back, arms straight and kind of put your weight on the grab bar with your foot. This is a real easy way to pop a wheelie in a low gear. Then, once you get used to that try doing it in a seated position.

i up shift and down shift on wheelies. also i dont claim wheelies when the grab bar touches the ground, or when the rider is not setting on the seat like you would just driving around.

Attempts before getting that high, prob around 50. Either you get it or you dont, not an easy thing.
