The owner wants $500 firm, but its got registration/papers, a VERY clean engine, Cobra exhaust, all brakes and electrical work, starts within a couple kicks and it's fast :D

Fender is a bit abused, but I'm not worried about that.

was thinkin the same thing frame , fender ,tank shrouds , headlight shroud , all look 84ish to me, maybe its an 87 in an elaborate disguise ? either way ya cant go wrong with a 200X and that one is a nice looking machine and a pretty good deal to boot congrats holmes.

As far as I know, swingarm is the only diff between 83 and 84... Oh yea and the kicker gears are also different.

Some of the eary 83's had a wide kicker pedal also and yes the internal tranny kicker assembly is different also I believe it used smaller gears.

First thing I checked to see what year it is- nope, no decal or anything. The guy is certain it's an 87 though, he bought it the last year they made them- it's had work done on it. Or maybe it was the engine that was an 87....

Also, the engine was very recently rebuilt with a performance cam put in it :D :D

Whatever year it is I don't care because I'm like a kid in a candy store. Can't wait to pick it up on friday :D

In the mean time I found someone not too far from me that has a massive collection of trikes, including numerous Honda ATC 90's just sitting, in ALL the colors honda has made them in (yes that means blue, yellow GREEN and the orange :D ). I'm gunna see if I can get a green one.

Sorry buddy but thats not an 87. It's the first generation frame and motor. Still a good score though. You can run the vin and engine numbers to find out for sure.

there is nothing 1987 about that machine, not the frame, not the motor. the previous owner knows squat.

nice enough 84, though. I would put a skid plate/chain guide on there before a derailed chain destroys your motor cases

He said HIS 200x is an 84, and yes, it was infact an 84 (his, not mine). He's licensed to work on motorcycles too :)

2003 CR85 front caliper bolts right on to the 200x bracket and removes the parking brake.

Gotta clean out the carb, air filter, and then swap out the muffler. Also needs a bath and a bit of chain tensioning....
