Chain questions, also 350x all parts the same?

I had some chain questions. Also, are all 350x parts interchangeable, or were there some different parts between the 2 years?

On to the chain issue, I have one labeled:

LM520 PR05
(Sprocket count is stock, 13/40)

Guy I got it from didn't have a master link. I believe it's just a 520/90. However when I put on my chain's master link from my 200s (520/84) it didn't fit. How can I make this work? Is there multiple 520 versions?

Is the one you bought an o ring chain? The Master link is difficult to get on a o ring chain. Not the whole link but the part you slide on to lock the master link together.

Alot of stuff is interchangeable on the 350x, but not everything. The biggest difference IMHO is the swing arm. You can swap out the entire swinger, but not individual parts from an '85 to an '86. The carriers were different, as well as the rear brake setup. Front brakes are different(but will swap), engine is a little different, but will swap (the direction the clutch pulls on the motor is different-uses a different bracket). Most everything else is cosmetic.
