So this was on cragslist here for $250. I e-mailed the guy, no phone number given, waited two or three days to here back from him. Meanwhile he lowered the price to $200. It was sitting in his shed for years and used as a spare when people didn't have a 4 wheeler (weird huh?) I got it for $200. It needs a choke cable and a taillight and otherwise the thing is in great shape. Even though he didn't even know there was oil to check or change. I pulled the oil fill cap and he was surprised to see that it had engine oil. So I brought it home and changed the oil, drained the gas, cleaned the carb, fresh spark plug and gave it a good wash.

Just waiting to get a new line for the oil line to the carb to take it out for a drive.

What is the purpose of the line that goes from the bottom of the float bowl to the right side of the engine (in picture 1)? The larger of the two lines in the picture that comes from the plastic cover that just vents?

How is the fork oil changed? There is only a bolt on the bottom of the lower sliders? Do you fill it then assemble it? Looks like the only way to do it.

Now you just have to get your rear suspension for it.

I know it makes me really see just how bad my 200X was treated by its previous owners. The thing fired on the second pull after I rebuilt the carb so the float bowl was empty at first. Is there any choke cable that works in place of the one Yamaha doesn't make?

No sure of the year, but they only made them for 2 years. I guess I should look.

Also anyone familiar with these, the oil capacity is rated at 850 ml. At 600 ml it started pouring out of the bolt for the oil fill level. Also what is the factory mixture screw setting supposed to be at?

Yeah its fun. After I got the fuel line on it I took it out for a nice ride. And took my son around the field. He loved it. First three wheeler ride. Just gotta find a service manual for it.

You can find those choke cables on ebay all the time.

I am jealous. I have been waiting a long, long time for a nice YT125 or YT175 to pop up within 3 hours or so of my area. They are few and far between. I would advise light duty for that machine- there are very few left in nice original shape

My son rode his 125yt for 4 years and a 10 yr. old before him owned it. They are bullet-proof. Son's yt has honda and yamaha parts on it. The 2-stroke carb is easy to tune on his. After it's started we adjust the idle screw and there it is. & ya, wheelie king (see album). It is a rough bounce though, let some air out of the tires. & also in the bottem end we ran a little lucas gear oil seemed to help. We switched to honda premix (for some reason more power & smoother) and I mixxed 50:1 (which may have been wrong, thicker?) at 3700 feet elevation.

Where's you're area? There's a YT125 in good shape around northern Michigan.
