got this on my 83 250R and there are no markings on it. I believe the head pipe to be stock original, toward the back, right before where the silencer slips on there is a SANKEN stamp, is that the original head pipe? I have no clue on the "silencer" though, not a single marking on it! I hope one of you out there can identify it for me!

Can anyone else chime in on this topic? How about any info on "answer" silencers or any input at all would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like the stock pipe with an answer silencer. The answer silencers were made in round or oval. It does look like it needs cleaned and repacked.

It's prolly one of the earlier silencers Answer made for that trike. I think they changed over to oval a few years later. They were a great company!

so maybe a clean up and re-packing is in order? Is this a good silencer? i was thinking of putting a whole new DG pipe and silencer on since that seems to be the only thing I can find! would that be better than the current setup?

IMO Go with the DG setup. The DG pipe will give you more power, especially if you also do the 34mm carb upgrade.
