I added a 83-85 200x axle to my 85 110, disc brakes and all. It would have to be easier to put a 200x axle on yours. Or maybe just the brakes.

I thought about this myself on mine and let me explain what it would take and why it would not be worth it.

From what I have learned in my own researching it would require you to modify the rear carrier of the 185s to remove the drum plate, you'd have to install another plate to bolt the carrier to the frame and may even have to build some kind of metal adapter so that the caliper could mount there. Additionally you'd need an axle that you can bolt the disc too. Will a 200x axle fit? I don't know but you get the idea.

It'd be far easier just to do the disc brake up front as you can just install the front forks off a disc brake trike, like a 200x, I'm sure.

I'm not expert but that's how I see it. Maybe someone else will have a better idea.

your thinking to hard, cut off the drum area but leave the carrier mount in tact. slide in the 200x axle and add a caliper mount....done

You can use a disc carrier and disc off an 82 250r and use a cable caliper off a 77-82 oddessy(spelling). No need to mount master cylinder etc that way and its a really simplre caliper bracket. I used this system on my alloy framed 90's 30 years ago and it worked great. I had to make up a disc holder back then but the early 250 disc etc is perfect. The Oddy cable is also about 6 feet long so you can make it fit a hand lever or foot pedal.
