Guys i got a dumb question but i can not figure it out. On my 85 350x when i pulled the exhaust off there was some rap like stuff where the header pipe fit into the silencer pipe. It was in some way a cone shape so the more you pushed it on there the better or tighter it fit... What is that stuff? I went to the auto stores around town and could not find any thing like it all they had is Just muffler tape.. My question to those who understand what im asking. What do you use to seal up your exhaust where it comes together????? My x now has a bit of an exhaust leak right there that im trying to fix..:)
Thanks in advance.............

Part number 18392-MK4-000. You can get them at the dealer for about $10 or so. Or here is one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-ATC350X-HEADER-GASKET-muffler-pipe-NEW-OEM-350X-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3a5bb250b6QQitemZ25064 6515894QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

I remember they used to sell a roll of what looked like double sided tape to seal the exhaust port too. I have used that stuff, but that was about 20 years ago.

Ya it was kind of like that...
as for http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-ATC350X-HEADER-GASKET-muffler-pipe-NEW-OEM-350X-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3a5bb250b6QQitemZ25064 6515894QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories.
That goes where??? In between the Header Pipe and the Silencer???
Cause it's tight at the Head, just not where the pipe breaks in the middle just above the kick start.. The point where the Header pipe slips into the silencer or muffler.. With out that "tape stuff" it leaks just a tad...
