would a piston still be good even if the top is all chewed up? a "C" clip came off the needle of the carb and got in the cylinder and chewed it all up. the sidewalls and stuff are still good but the top of the piston and head are a little chewed up. if i just put some rings in it and put it back together would it still work properly?

i was always told not to run a piston that had been chewed up like that or the head. i had a similar problem like that and had to get a new piston and get the head cleaned up because it causes hot spots that could burn a hole in the piston. i hope this will help.

i sent mine to a friend and he used a dremel tool to clean the head. as far as the piston i'm not sure what to tell you about it. i just bought a new piston kit just to be safe that was the same size
