Ok, I'm stumped. We cleaned the carb, changed the air filter, changed the spark plug and gave it an oil change. Started nice ran great for 2 hours. Then my son parked it for awhile, went back out for a ride and won't start, won't even turn over. Any ideas before we pull our shoulder out.

What do you mean it won't turn over? Like it's locked up?

No I mean when we pull the pull cord we can't get it to sound like it's going to turn over.

Unless your pullcord broke (wouldn't return if the spring broke/something fell out), then it should turn the engine when pulled. Maybe a valve is stuck open so there is no compression, making it feel like it's not turning over properly? Or if it doesn't turn at all, it would likely be seized.

ok, let's see.

It ran nicely. now it won't.

The pull rope pulls and retractis ok? and the engine spins but no start when you do that?

if so, whatever happens, go easy on that pull rope. NO need to yank it hard or worse, all the way out.

They usually start with 2 fingers and a pull of a foot or so.

Just hate to see you have to fix the rope for no good reason.

ok, so next, I would pull the sparkplug out, hook up the plug wire, lay the plug on the engine and pull the rope and see if you can see spark at the plug.

Sidenote - I did a multimonth rebuild on a spiffy trike and one day it wouldn't start as I was trying to show it off to my friends.

well? in my infinite wisdom, I had the kill switch off.

ok, back to the topic.

if you see spark at the plug, you are halfway there.

If the plug cap is kinda loose, some say to trim like a quarter inch (TINY bit) off the end of the sparkplug wire and re screw in the sparkplug cap.

let us know and we'll move to the next step in the sequence of resurrection.

You guys just have to promise to be careful if we help you get it going

Hahaha, hate to say it, but when there's snow on the ground and no plows out yet, the city becomes my playground. Going to make a sled to drag my big snowblower around this year. Drive to houses to shovel and to gas station in snowstorms, also. Just need ski mask + goggles.

Other than that, not many places to ride unless you find someone with a big yard or go to a public city park illegally. We manage, though.
