Hello to All, Been a few years since I have been around here....got new user name. I mostly restored my '85 200x about 8 years ago & wish to freshen it up a bit & hopefully get some more power. Currently running Wiseco 10.25:1 piston, Web cam (I think model 86a or 89), with a custom PRO-FLO Mikuni 27.7mm carb w/hand made manifold. Runs pretty good with about 65-68mph top end (on the GPS). The kicker slips once in a while also (should I undercut the kicker gears?? ).

So, I want to run a Wiseco or Poweroll 12:1 piston, use a more aggressive cam, & perhaps the Powroll stroker crank. As for the cam, looking at WebCam & Megacycle. Maybe the one with the roller bearings. Thought about an external oil cooler...but leaning towards not using one.

Can I get some feedback on what is the best setup that works well together with good drive-ability & reliability. Not looking for MAXIMUM horsepower (with less reliability) but would like more power than I have now. All advice is appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Sam

Skydrifter350, how do you like the mod's you've made so far? Do they take away low rpm torque or rob some other aspect of driveability to gain power?

The mods I have made the trike better in every way. I changed the gearing as well...I think one tooth bigger up front, & two smaller in the rear. Pulls just fine. Runs great. Just want more.

If your going with a powroll stroker crank, go with there 395 lift race cam. If your set on a cam with roller bearings your going to have to go with megacycle. I recommend there 370 lift cam, the 435 lift cam that they offer requires you to modify the head for lobe clearance and will cost you on the reliability side of things. Your going to want to find someone who can do good port work. Your engine will only be as good as your port work. Good luck and keep us informed.

Thanks Xrider. Anyone have suggestions on who does good port work? Thinking of using CT Racing for this. Also considering a 1mm oversize intake valve. Any thoughts on this?
