ok hear it goes, the other day i was riding and i went to down shift and my shifter stayed down but the bike was still in the gear i down shifted to. but if you ever so slightly touched the shifter it would return to its normal resting spot. any ideas on what my problem could be? i haven't took the side cover off yet because i figured i would ask hear and at least have something to look for.
Thanks in advance

Walker

I dont know much about yammies but it sounds like a broken return spring.

Number 10 on this scheme
But again I'm not 100% sure

well there looks to be 4 different springs on bikebandit.com's diagram. so i guess i have to open up the crankcase.

If you wanna repair it, you'll obviously need to open it
Good luck!

im going to do it tomorrow. the engines wayyyyy to hot after i rode it for 30 minutes. it only sticks down sometimes. when you first start to ride it, it works fine. but as the engine warms up it starts sticking more and more.
