Bought one of these a few weeks ago, ran it around the yard a few times on seperate occasions.

It made a grinding noise then a clicking noise and I shut it down and opened up the right crankcase cover. The arm that stops the shift drum bolts to a lug on the case, the lug has broken off.

What are my options? Is the case aluminum? Can it be welded? Can I replace just the right side case or do I need to get both sides as a set? I do have a clymer manual and plan to do it myself. Would I be better off having a shop do it? What special considerations should I keep in mind?

Any secrets to getting phillips head screws out without stripping them?

Ebay is your friend for the parts you need and use an impact driver to get the screws out .
