looking at tecate to add to my junk

i found a tecate for 150.00 needs some parts any one got sone extra things maybe ..... i pick it up fathersday weekend so will not have a list untell later but just wanted some input about the tecate ...i have 81 250r and an84 250r how dose it compare.

to me its a night and day difference between my 82 250r and my uncles 85 tecate.

it feels bigger than my r and has way more power and is alot faster

Its an all out speed machine IMO. It blasts away my 85R and handles really well with a more agressive front tire. I would get it man, its a deal.

i am getting it the kid says it needs a few parts and he will hold it for me ...whats the best place to start looking ...here or ebay . i know it needs a seat and the ad says mag.cause it has no spark and for 150.00 i will put myself out on the street corner for that ...hahahha

You should be able to find parts pretty easily on here and on ebay for that trike. You'll enjoy it. They are known for the magnets coming off the flywheel. It probably tore up the stator also. You can get a brand new Ricky flywheel and stator for it for $250. When you do get it running and if you've never ridden a Tecate before, be prepared because the power band hits like a light switch. Kinda like a punch in the face. It's violent so make sure you are sitting on the gas tank and prepare to let off the throttle sometimes until you get used to it. they are very fun trikes but they really are all business. Good luck with it.

i will say that my 84 tecate is a beast it will lift the front wheel through 4 gears, i've got an 81 250r and its no where near the pull my tecate has..... its just an all out power house and its primarily stock!
