Curious who wears what for protection. At the moment I wear MX boots, full face helmet and gloves along with whatever clothes suit the climate. Anyone wear more or less gear for protection? I think some sort of chest or back protector might be good for when I'm fooling around on hills and pits. Lessen the chance of broken ribs or sternum if I flip.

Shoes, jeans, t-shirt (jacket if I'm in the brush), gloves, ball cap and sun glasses. Sorry if it pisses off the safety monitors, but growing up in AK and riding that way since I was 14 has become habit. I Have tried a few times to wear a helmet, but the weight and restriction in visibility drive me trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotr ailpro insane, to the point I would quit riding altogether if I was forced to wear one.

If I'm out hunting and driving a quad, I don't bother with a helmet, I'd rather wear an orange hat and lessen the chance of getting shot at. But then I'm just crossing fields and not fooling around like I do on my trike.

depending on the ride ,i almost always wear my helmet for any serious riding hjc helmet no gloves at the moment but theyre on my dk wishlist scott goggles if riding with other people and brahma ( sp ?) steel toed tall work boots, i had a nice axo chest protector wich gave me a little more confidence and oniel mx boots they they burnt up in my buddies house fire . to me there is nothing cooler than being fully decked out in mx gear like a roost spittin warrior ( not the quad )

T-shirt, jeans, shoes, helmet w/goggles and riding gloves. I used to always ride in shorts but I crashed a few years back and got gravel rash on my leg so I don't do that anymore

I wear jeans, boots, shirt and sunglasses but I try to stay pretty safe when riding. I do want to get a nice helmet and chest protecter and such so I can start getting a little more extreme.

Helmet and glasses, and basically whatever clothes I happen to be wearing that day.
Oh and a backpack full of beverages, delicious beverages.
I dont know how anyone can wear riding boots or them freaky riding clothes. And i also despise gloves, unless its below freezing temp

Depends on my ride if i'm riding my bike it's helmet always, safety glasses, and maybe gloves depends on if im riding where theres possible thorn bushes or other brush. If it's my big red it's my dodge hat, maybe gloves again, glasses, and mud boots:twisted: It gets really muddy:naughty:.

Riding boots, knee protectors, chest protector, pants, jersey, helmet and gloves aand usually sunglasses - I hated the elbow pads and learned to roll from a bad crash
None of my goggles last, (I HATE scratches!!) I need a set I can get 10 lenses for. They're basically just like a sandblaster.........

My friend who races motocross keeps telling me that a chest protector is so important. He already talked me into the boots, and he's right that it does even help cut down on fatigue from standing on the pegs. I guess he's seen a few guys bust ribs or cave in their chests without chest protectors. Sounds like total overkill for a trail ride, but probably smart stuff when you start taking jumps and climbing higher hills.

i wear a helmet , jeans, work boots and tee-shirt.
i go riding every saturday, which in cludes hills fro 10 ft to 75 ft , last saturday i was doing a 50 ft fairly steep hill with my 250sx and spun the right hub about 15 ft from the top, so the trike hooked a hard right into some trees and sent me and the sx tumbleing 50ft down the hill, well needless to say there were places on the trees where the tires hit 6 ft of the ground, i hit one tree head on with the helmet. i have severe road rash from haveing just a tee-shirt on, and i swear someone had hit me in the gut with a hammer,
so i think i will be gettin a chest and back protecter and a jersey, i ride with a bunch of crazy hill climbing quad riders.

I wear my Beiffe helmet with Troy Lee flaming eyeball stickers, Scott goggles, shirt, shorts, my Nike 6.0s or my Answer boots when jumping. I run a pair of oldschool MSR Rage 7 gloves. I have never used a chest protector and don't plan on it.

A BMX full face helmet (already owned it), Carharts, Georgia boots, Burton snowboard pipe gloves, whatever jacket or shirt I'm wearing. Those Burton gloves I bought 10 years ago and have over 40,000 street miles on them and a year on the trail and have outlasted any motorcycle gloves I have ever bought. They have one hole in the knuckles from the first year when I dropped my 750 the first summer of riding.

Y--M--C--A-- it's fun to play at the.. :DIs my riding apparel the reason why I never get invited a second time to go on rides? Maybe I should dump the cowboy hat then, and get a Harley Davidson style helmet & mirrored sunglasses.
