Just got finished installing the new axle on my 200X. Looks great. Was a good experience to learn how the axle disassembles, bearings go on, hub, rotor, etc come together. Only tricky part was removing the bearing spacer from the old axle and getting it onto the new one. It was a little rusty, and was tight on the new axle. I cleaned it thoroughly after using sandpaper on the inside to remove the rust, and put some synthetic grease inside it to keep it from seizing on again. Before and after pictures to install.
Also installed a CR85 front caliper on the rear to replace the messed up one that came with my trike. Easy install, and nice to have new pads and pins that came with the new caliper.

Awesome.. I have had those axles in my ebay favorites for a long time. Got any pics? I did the cr85 front caliper on the rear too. Works great. Whoever figured that one out did us all a favor.

I almost thought the CR85 bracket was going to work, but no dice. Looks like I snapped the photo before I finished the job. I grabbed the camera as soon as my hands were clean.
Now that I see how easy it is to change the axle, I might lengthen a spare swingarm and see how I like it a couple of inches longer.

Looks nice. Let us know how it feels with the extended axle. Looking forward to putting my in. I saw there was a run on these recently. It went from 16 available to 9 real quick.

I'm eager to see how it handles on the sand. You wouldn't think we would have much sand on the prairies, but I've found 4 good areas within an hour that have sand hills, bowls and trails. I like the way a trike handles on sand with a very controllable drift.

Hey do you know if the 200x rear caliper is the same as a 350x? I checked on the prices and I will definitely buy one if it can be swapped.

Love the 200x by the way. Hope I find a job before what's left of my project gets sold to pay bills...

I was looking at an online part source place and the 200x caliper and the 350x caliper have different Honda part numbers, but who knows if they might still be interchangeable. Maybe one of the fanatics on here has both machines and could compare.

Had a good day out riding with the new axle. No problems and happy with it. Trails, hills, sand and gravel pits. A nice upgrade.

I"m the one that figured out the cr80 swap on the 200x that Grizzlypeg did. You can also use a kx80 rear one for the front. Just have to reuse either 200x steel bracket.
thebutelr --- the caliper swap will work on your 350x just reuse your original bracket.

Good work on coming up with that Jason85atc. Its great to have a fresh caliper on there and not having to rebuild the old one. I can lock up the rear on pavement, that's how good it stops now. I bought a 2006 caliper on ebay and it even came with new pads. I'll never miss the parking brake I never had.

Allot of the calipers are very similar- in mountening. We won't run out of caliper options anytime soon! Even if you had to make a custom bracket that wouldn't be so bad............
MANY calipers swap with little or no mods will fit; I ran a Banshee caliper on my 200X for quite some time.... I ran the master too with just a simple aluminum homemade bracket. I have to find the pics.
In time, we'll learn to adapt nearly anything from everything and have replacement or rebuild kits available...............
I'll try to find it sometime this week.
