Hi there, I'm new forums and such so bare with me. I've owned my Honda 250sx for a little over a year now and have done alot of work to her over this past year. rebuilt the rearend, changed plastics, switched the front end over to a 200X setup (looks sick) and just recently put on a Uni air filter and full cobra exhaust. But now for some reason, the wheeler wont idle, WTF ... I bumped up the pilot jet from a 38 to a 40 and changed the main jet from a 130 to a 132. Now once the wheeler is running, it runs great doesn't miss a beat but if I try to have it idle, it dies. Also, it is kindof hard to start after she dies. Now I didn't try adjusting the screw on the bottom of the carb, do I need to? Should I try adjusting the clip on the needle? I also checked for air leaks while she was running and could find any. I sprayed around the carb with carb cleaner while it was running and I didn't hear any surging. I'm out of ideas, any suggestions??:D

Yes. You probably need to raise you needle 1 notch as well... Turn you idle screw up a tish as well... Did you sync the slide and butterflys? (I would throw a fresh NGK sparkplug in it too, just for good measure...

Have a read on this sticky... It will shine a lot of light on what it is you are adjusting, and where you will notice the changes.

Sorry it took me so long to respond but I had a hard time finding jets. Tried local Honda dealers and other places and nobody had them. I ended up getting them online at JetsRUs.com. But anyway, that link you gave was a great help. It definitely helps knowing what your adjusting and what affects it has on the carb. I got the 250 running last night and it sounds 100 times better. I appreciate all your help and that helpful link.

No problem... I had to read, and re-read it a time or two after I had piped and eliminated the airbox on my 350X to get it running right again... Glad you got it put together!
