View Full Version : Paddle Tire Mounting?

I just bought a set of 20x11-10 sand skate II's for my 200x. The tires were already mounted on rims. The thing is that when I bolted them on I realized that the paddles aren't lined up. Should I break one of the tires down and turn it? Or will it not make any difference once I'm in the sand? I've never run in sand before and I'm going to the dunes this weekend. Any info would be appreciated.

Can you just rotate one of them on the hub to match the other?

That's a really good idea! Don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks man

Tell me how they work out, I heard that the 200X does not have enough power to turn paddles.

We use paddles on our 200x with no problems.

She's good.. I'm not going to lie.. We need to get up to Ohio for some races. I think having the paddles lined up is a lot more important with skat trak haulers.

I wouldn't think aligned paddles would matter much..?

Mine are off just slightly..

Does anyone run sand skates? I just wondered if not having them lined up would cause steering issues or any other problems?

That's what we use on our 200X. I would just get them as close as possible. It's most important to have them lined up on a drag bike. If they aren't lined up, on the launch it could throw you to the left or right. On a play bike in the dunes, it's not that important.
On the left in the middle of the stack.

Dammit!

The 200x doesn't really have enough power to make it all that important. Just get it as close as you can by spinning the hub. The funny thing is, on a trike with a lot of power, you'll probably spin the tire on the rim a little bit anyways.

How much air should I run in those tires?

It shouldnt matter much at all if any. Generally they will move on the wheel reguardless over time. I would just leave them and ride it. As far as psi....depends on the amount of power you have and the type of sand. lower pressure will give you more bite, and higher less bite. I like to run around 2-3psi in the rears. Just make sure they are even or it is impossible to wheelie straight.

some times to fix this it is just a matter of lining up your axle hubs with one another with the splines on the axle. If you have had them off, (axle hubs) or some one else they may not be lines up right, You would not know this until you have a paddle on.. Could be your prob... Maybe not....
