Yeah...the Japanese don't have a sound in their language equivalent to our "L"....so when they say words with the letter "L", they use the "R" sound. When they say golf, it sounds like gorf and when they say lobster, it sounds like robster, for example. This warning tag was surely translated by a Japanese person. Obviously, when they learn English better, they learn to pronounce the "L" sound. I worked for the Japanese government for a few years...I learned a lot about them.....good and bad.

Yes I saw this a long time ago... I thought it was a spelling mistake, but thank you Woodsrider to explain it for us.

I was actually quite surprised at all of the little mistakes in the '83-'85 200X shop manual....and the first thing I thought was....probably translated and proof read by a Japanese person...and since they feel that they are a superior race, they wouldn't even think of asking someone whose native tongue was English(or French if it was for a French translation) to proof read something for them. I seem to remember some of the labels on my '86 Moto-4 225 having a few mistakes...but I traded it for my 250ES so I can't go look at it.

"Herro, do you like to eat Robster??".

"Hell no, I just shoot the dam bastards!!", "WTF?, what do I look like!, I'm not a dam cannibal!!"
