i was talking to a friend who grew up on his 200x and he said the engine is a tuned down street bike engine(modified) and you can build one fast enough to beat a stock 250r.
i have my doubts and i have never ridden a stock 250r so i have no idea how fast one is the one i ride is strictly for speed and violent power which any 200x could not beat in a straight drag.
i find it hard to beleive a 200x is a modded street bike motor so i thought i would settle it on here

give me your opinion on this.

that engine has been around for awhile and yes it was used in some street bikes, but nothing fast. It was used in the Honda Reflex. but that was after the end of the 200x

I'm sure that with enough money and enough help from Sparks racing or Powroll you could build a 200x to run with or beat a stock 250R, but reliability will suffer.

The 200x came from the 1976-78 honda cb 100 & cb 150 motor. It's been bored sensless. I often wondered why Honda didn't put a 125 or 175 2-stroke in it. The 200 jus' doesn't do it justice. The 200x jus' feels like it should be faster somehow. I dunno', I like the 200x (have 2 and picking up another this weekend), but not quite competative in the speed section. It's a great trike for my kids though.

I love my 200x, but it always feels like it is one gear short. Always feels like it just has that much more in it.
