So I picked up the trike a few nights ago off a guy for 350 bucks! He said it didn't run, and hadn't for the last seven years that is had been collecting dust in the barn! I put a new plug and some fresh fuel in it and it fired up on the first kick! Anyways, the bike is insane in mid range but is doggy on the low end and seems to cut in and out in the high end! I'm gonna pull the carb tomorrow and clean it out to see if that will help at all. What do you guys think the issue could be?

carb needs to be cleaned and maybe the air filter as well.

Yeah, i'd start with a good cleaning of the carb, and replacing the air filter. Or cleaning it out at least.

Well guys, I cleaned the carb up nice and that seemed to help quite a bit, cleaned off the air filter (time for a new one) I'm happy with the trike for the price that I paid for it as a rider, need to get new plastics for it and then it will look new! Anydoby know where I can get a font brake resevoir? Was trying to get the lid off so I could check fluid, screws were so brittle the snaped off in the housing so now I have electrical tape keeping the lid on! Also, the trike itself runs good and everything but I guess I was expecting a little more power out of it! I mean it snorts, no doubt about it! Just thought it would be a bit more wicked! I guess I will have to find a 3rd gen 250R, the old lady is gonna kill me if I bring home another toy though! Its a sickness I tell her; I'm addicted to trikes like a fat girl to cake! If you gurus out there know how to get some more power outta this thing PLEASE let me know!

Rather than messing around with that crusty old reservoir you should just grab one off of a more modern dirt bike or quad. It's a lot easier.

throw it away and get somthing off like a 300ex, it fits fine.

If you want more power, get an aftermarket pipe, boyesen reeds, and a 34mm carb off an 85/86 250R. It will make a HUGE difference!

Or a CR480 engine or top end.
