I was searching for the original OHTSU P/V 24x8x11 front tire for the 1985 350X, 86-87 200X, 85 ATC250R . I emailed a honda dealer and he told me they are in back order with an ETA of 6/30-7/13. wow!

here is the sku, they actually show both 23.5 and 24 on the 1985 350X SKU, I guess some just call them 24"s . I beleive it's the part number 44710-HA5-672AT that shows 24x8x11. There are several superceded part numbers for this tire.http://www.hondapartsnation.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/7/Honda.aspx?gclid=CO638d-Q4qECFQ_yDAod2UFeKQ

Where can you place a ORDER ?

Give us detail's ...

Their going to sell so many tires !

honda200x1987
05-21-2010, 06:10 PM
The tires where discontinued from Honda but they are now on back order and will be available from Honda on or between 6/30/2010- 7/13/2010. There was so many requests for the tire they are now making them again, just like they did for the 86 ATC250R rear fenders a few years ago but the fenders are now disco. You will need to contact a Honda ATV dealer on those dates or anytime you like but they won't be available till then.

honda200x1987
05-21-2010, 06:13 PM
You will need to ask for part number 44710-HA5-003 <-- ask for this number . There are superceded numbers 44710-HA5-672 and 44710-HA5-672AT The picture below is a Dunlop but the OHTSU is the same pattern and is the correct oem original that is being reproduced. the second picture is the Ohtsu that is supposibly on back order.

Yes OHTSU still makes tires for trucks ,atv's etc. the latest trx400ex carries the OEM OHTSU. They did stop making the oem tire for the 350X, ETC PART NUMBER 44710-HA5-003 but they are making it again, I guess they still have the molds for the tires.
Somebody is giving you bad information. Ohtsu doesn't even make tires anymore.

I just Bought Some OHTSU tires for my HONDA Civic

Dammit!
05-21-2010, 08:17 PM
Well I hope you're right but I'll believe it when I see it. Back when we were all scrambling to buy the discontinued dunlop tires EVERYBODY said they were on back order until whatever date. When the date came, some dealers said oh now it's pushed back to whatever. Then some said they were discontinued.

Like I said, I HOPE you're right but I won't be holding my breath.

Honda does not typically reproduce parts with a 003 suffix. The 672 is usually the re-run or newer number. But the 3 part numbers should be linked together at the dealer. Hope they actually make these again like they stated.

Im with you Dammit, I'll bet anyone $20.00 that whoever that kid was behind the counter saying these tires were on order was looking at some old, outdated information. But I will be happy to be wrong and please feel free to tell me "I told you so" when they became available.

well, i will say this, what ever tire manufacturer decides to bring back these tires (if and when they do) stands to make a few bucks, cuz it seems to me that restoring old wheelers, ESPECIALLY the trikes is starting to get quite popular. And why shouldnt it? You can completely restore, and mod up a little bit, a nice old R, Tri-Z, Tecate or something and STILL be cheaper than the brand new 450s at $7000 and up!

I attempted to order a tire from the dealer posted in this thread. I received a phone call from them stating they are no longer available blah blah blah.

Thanks for the offer, but I only paid $750 for the whole trike, a $360 front tire is way out of my budget. Good luck with the sale.

going rate....$360?
Whoa, when did this happen?

Whats the going rate for a NOS 86R rear fender? Front fender?

Yeah Pablo, it's not pretty :-(. If you can come up with these tires for $60.00 somewhere then you would become an instant hero on this forum. And as for N.O.S. fenders...if you'll sell me the complete set for $500.00 then I'll take 4 sets.

I have 2 rear tires on order for my 350x at my Honda dealer. They say I should get them in about 2 weeks ( that was back in Sept.) I guess they are still across the ocean waiting for a boat, lol. Hopefully they come in. The Honda dealer is convinced that they will.

Its not that they're so good it's just that anything else looks like it doesn't belong on the trike. But for someone who's just a back yard thrasher then any tire will do. But for those who admire the original look from 1986 the Dunlop/Ohtsu is the only tire that will do...and those tires are endangered. Thus we enter the realm of "Supply and Demand". You should of learned that in 10th grade economics class. CHEERS!!

I'm hooked on the performance of the tire. It works well in all kinds of terrian. The only thing I would like to improve would be the side wall thickness, but that might change the performance, that's just my 2 cents worth,.

Is it safe to say we will NEVER find these tires new from a dealer again? They were supposed to come out 6/30 or 7/30, we're almost a half a year past that with no update. I hate to say it, but they're gone.

man, i 2 have a new kt 576 23" for the 250r. i dont even own a atc250r. but anyway your not going to beleive this but i have the receipt to prove it. I bought this tire like 2 months ago from my local dealer for my 86 200x that i totally resored. i no its not the 23.5 for the 200x but it was the oem look. anyway i was with my buddy at the dealer, he was buying his kid tires for his b-day, we went downstairs to there tire racks & i noticed it in the rack & i new right away the history of the tire & its not made anymore so i grabed it. now the dealer dont charge you ebay price of 350.00 i got it for what it normally sells 4 & that was 40 some dollars.... like i said, so no ones calling BS i have the receipt.. to prove it.
now im not sure what i want to do with it but, i have the 87 trx250r thats all original close to mint, but the plastic has some spider webing that has formed. if any1 has any oem front or rears for this in really good shape maybe we can talk. thanks scott
