So i found a 85 250R about 2 1/2 hours from me. Ive been wanting one forever and the last one i found was a total piece of sh!t and he wanted more than $500 for it with no fenders and a locked up motor. This one is a 85 he says it runs great and is all stock. Said the fenders have been spray bombed the seat needs replaced or recovered. The rear bearings need replaced and the front brakes dont work but there all there. He wants $600 for it and wont take no less. Ive been looking forever and this might be right for me to get a decent runner and build up as i can with new and used parts. Does $600 sound fair? he also said that he dosnt have a camera to take pics with so i would have to go sight unseen to buy it but he guaranteed that its fires right up and runs but made me aware of all the other crap wrong with it. Said he has about 30 different bikes all total from dirtbikes to quads to atcs said he has a 86 200x and a mint 84 250r as well.

yeah but 2 1/2 hours with at truck that gets 15-17 mpg thanks costly enough to go and not come back with it. Im just gonna have to wait and see i wont be able to go till next week so hopefully he still has it. Im sure if i go and it runs good then im gonna come back with it lol.

You'll drive it if you want it bad nuff, and i will agree your not gonna find a runner for less then that. even a beat to crap all together 85/86 no one complains about a grand for the bike.

rear carriers seem range from $180-220 for a new nice billet dual row one.

He says he doesn't have a way to email any and he doesn't have pic service on his phone. Said hes got tons of calls but no ones seemed to interested since they cant see it, but that's good for me cause if it runs like he says it does im pretty sure im gonna try to get it.

Duh! A short 2 1/2 hr. drive for a liquid r, I encourage you to jump on that, Texas is big, but trikes are extremely rare in Montana, I have drove no less than 5 hrs, (both ways) for a parts 200x. Me & a buddy have to go to Idaho (min. of 8 hrs. there) to pick up 2 trikes for our kids! It'll be worth it as I have talked to Texas guys and they are somewhat rare even with so many people. Do it, Do it, Do it, TeXaS SoB (dodge ball, lol).

2.5 hrs isn't much for that. I would go check it out. If it is as he states, then it's worth it.

i sure hate to be a debby downer, but i dont know if i'd make the drive by the sound of it. i found my 86 350x that ran for $450,still havent touched the motor. i found my liquid 86 big bore +6 swinger plus tons and tons of extras for $900, it didnt need a thing. i also found my mint 85 BR with passenger seat and speedo for $550. i have had extremely good luck, but it was by searching 3 times a day that it all happened. anyway, just my 2cents. i would pass and wait for a better deal

If i pass I may or may not find one and im tired of looking. I live 30 miles from the OK border so for me to drive down by you is farther than I really want to go. And how long ago did you buy those trikes? Also I may not have the money later when a good deal pops up. Im also restoring a 1966 Mustang so it takes alot of my extra cash and I just bought a 2010 F150 and the payments are not cheap.

i got em all in the last 6 months er so. i shouldnt say not to get it, it may be the right trike for you. im not on the market for another right now, but i still check craigslist a couple times a day minimum cause you never know when someone feels like giving somethin away. hell, that BR i got is in such good shape i want to lock it up for 10 more years and the guy knew he shoulda been askin waaaaay more $$. another one i got was a real nice 84 BR . wealthy guy didnt want to fix it so he said $300 and its yours. i took it home, ordered the drive shaft off ebay for $24 and a week later had a sweet ride. i sold that one for $1000 and when i did, i kinda didnt want to let it go for that little but i knew i'd find my 350x for cheap, and i did. im rambling big time. my point is just, if you have the patience and the $$ tucked away and ready to go, you can and will find yourself a helluva deal. good luck and if i find anything up your way, i'll send a link
