how much better is the '84 over the '81? Might pick-up an '84 cheaper than building my bottom end, only needs piston/bore. Thanx Dan

I'm new to the "R" world as I recently picked up an 85/86. I really know nothing about the air cooled Rs. But in my opinion I'd much rather have the 84 than an 81. I've heard people say the motors are virtually identicle. But the 84 frame has got to be better than the 81, from suspension, to tires, to frame geometry.

I vote 84!
