tank repainting

Just wondering what a good tank repainting would cost for my 200es. It's wearing down has scratches and my pinstriping is wearing thin. It's alright for now but not as good as I'd like and eventually I like to get it redone. I'm talking stripping it down to bare metal,primer,base, and clear and I'd like to get it re pinstriped. Something that will hopefully last me another 25 years or so. I'd love to do it myself but don't know how, and I'd probably just screw it up and waste more money than it would cost to just have someone who knows what there doing do it right the first time. So whats a good one cost and does anyone on here do them?

i do. autobody tech.. just got done with my 250sx,tank,plastics,frame, well actually everything. i'll do it for 80 bucks but you'll have to pick up the decals for your model and ship em to me or put em on yourself when i ship it back to you unless you want them applied after basecoat and cleared over. let me know. your satisfaction guaranteed.

Hey maxima could you post some pics of your work. I'm just kinda getting a feel for what it would cost right now got a lot of projects but I might be interested a little later in the year.

yea i'll take some pics of the 85 250sx restored front to rear with 200x forks and painted blue and white. i'll also post some pics of my '08 suzuki drz-400 that i painted all over 3 days after i bought it off of the showroom floor. the side panels where white and fenders black but i wanted all black which looks SOOOOOOOO MUCH BETER. I've never posted pics on here be 4 so if ya tell me how i'll post them imidiatly after i learn how. also i had my decals made by a buddy who has a custom lettering buisiness and stripped it myself. you'll see when i get pics up. turned out great IMO. i got the honda for the tank both sides and one for the rear on the fender though it doesn't belong there. also had him make the 250sx decals. five decals total and only $10 bucks. can't beat that. if you want to go that route let me know and i'll tell you what you need to do in order for him to make them up for you. i just live to give and can't help helpin

I just got the 2 side and 3 top decals for $49.00 priority shipped from Harlan at hjlysne@charter.net, and I found an auto body shop in my area that will do it for $75.00.

ETA: His decals go between the base coat and clear coat.

yea they all look better when you put them under the clear and last a whole lot longer and don't fade if you use a good clear coat. if anybody ever needs body/paint work for their trikes let me know i'll always make time to do it and at a great price. not looking to get rich just helping out and charging a VERY fair price. i just love making old things shiny and new again. let me know guys.

when you post a message go to attachments(paper clip) and select the files you want to download from your pictures folder then upload the image and check the box beside the pictures you want to use and click insert image. it's pretty easy and there is directions on there just play around with it and you'll get it sooner or later that what I did.

thanks man. i know it aint the factory colors they came in but it's mine and i only live once and thats the color i wanted not what eveyone else has
