Are crank seals regular oil seals??

Just wondering if main bearing/crank seals are the same thing as regular dual lip spring backed oil seals used anywhere else in an engine. I can get just about any size a bit cheaper than HONDA. If anyone knows anything - thanks.

On all the other seals i think you could find replacements,, but the crank seals usually have a different offset and i would not trust any other design,,, just bite the bullet you won't regret it,,,,,,

I don't doubt that your right. They sure look like a plain old oil seal though.
