It's been on craigslist for a while. That seat could be worth some money to the right collector. I hate it when people take for sale pictures with their trike covered in mud and grime. Don't they realize you will have a better chance of getting good money out of something that looks like it has received some maintenance over the years. Honestly I don't think it's worth $800 especially with 2nd gear out of it.

I would not touch that trike. 800, forget it. I can tell from the pics that you would have your work cut out for you getting it up to reliable riding shape.

You can probably find alot better deal than that for $800. Doent looked very well maintained.

yeah, that guy is stoned to the bizzone. i'd go look at it and point out everything wrong with it and explain to him that you have some knowledge and buddys with knowledge and the forum ect, and that you'll give him $200.
then get it home , clean it up and prepare to learn about the inner workings of the motor. you come out ahead in the long run. i only say that cause i wish i would hurry up and get a basket case so i could learn about the motor.
or you could just stay far away from this bike

I think some guys beleive if it's dirty the buyer will think it runs. But some guys leave em dirty to cover up damage etc.
$800.00 would be fine if you already had a donor engine, but you don't. Splitting the cases isn't so bad if you have the tools. There are a couple of videos on You tube that show the whole proceedure, what tools you'll need etc. Bottom line haggle with him if you want to get the bike and fix it up. After all its a reliable bike when running good in my opinion. This one has probably been rode very hard, and put away dirty.
Its true you could find a better / cleaner bike for about the same price, its all about timing.
Good luck what ever you decide.

I have seen super nice air-cooled R's that are ready to ride and in nice condition for that kind of money and less. It seems like lately when it comes to 3-wheelers, people are trying to get "top dollar" for stuff that doesn't run and is busted up. What's up with this?
