Gasket replacing, hints, tips, or advice?

So I finally found time to replace the gaskets on my Tecate (which has an LT250r suzuki engine in it). I bought a full gasket kit off of amazon and an oil seal for the shifter. What am I getting into exactly? I've never done this per say but i've done many other maintenance jobs to cars and bikes and quads so I'm not totally clueless. Will I need any sealant or what not? Anything would be helpful, thanks! :)

using vaseline to hold gaskets in place is alwasy a good idea and using a razor or something along those lines to scrap off the old gaskets is a must of course.
