it started as a box of parts and a powder coated frame, i polished all the parts so far i have a few more to do and i have to powder coat, and chrome a few more. all the yellow parts have a green pearl clear powder coat. i need to sell some xtra parts that i have to help fund this build. but with what you see i got done in 2 days off and on, but i never worked on a bike before and i didnt have the pleasure of taken it apart to see how it went together but so far so good.
i just droped off the rest of the stuff to get powder coated today, so now i have to send out the chrome but not sure how much thats gonna be so i have to find a good chromer and talk to them.

looks good so far , as for the brake i guess it depends on how or where you ride , if u plan on any hill climbing , i would ssy deffinatly need a front break . ( ever tried to use the back breaks to stop while rolling backwards down the hill ) painful lesson to learn .

Just polish your old forks...
If the forks are the same othe than the missing brake just polish the one lower tube with the brake mounts......gotta have as much stopping power as possible. I just started a tri z build this month too. Found a ugly POS....in process of tearin it down now. Yours is lookin bad ass.....dig the color scheme....yellow and chrome is what I had in mind too. what are you thinking in the way of hop ups or stayin close to stock?

as far as hop ups i want to get sproks head, water pump and cluch baskit. i have two heads and cyclenders, one head is stock the other is milled but needs work, and both cyclenders r proted one more than the other not sure what im doing w/ them want to talk to someone to find out my options both need to be bored one of them is 68.?20 and the other is 68.?60 so they r both good sleaves. i want this to be surprisngly fast but reliable for the desert riding. it has a aftermarket swinger, a 39 pw carb. ive been looking everywhere on every thread i can find for parts but man does it get confusing, since alot of the stuff i read is like 2 or 3 yrs old so i dont know if the parts r still around.
Welcome aboard.
That Z is gonna pop when you are done. I like the metalic paint. Keep us posted.
Have any pics of the swinger?
edit....
I just notice your sprocket hub may be loose judging by the gap at the center of the hub..
That star shaped area in the center should be tight. If it wobbels, it is worn out and needs replaced.
93 and up Banshee Sprocket hubs are a direct swap, and one piece steel. Much stronger.

That swingarm is very nice. I don't know if Laegers was around in the 80's, but that is a very nice piece. Resembles some of the old JP stuff i've seen. Jason Hall is very good with cylinders. He is a long time member here with an outstanding reputation for quality. He may be able to help you with some cylinder set up.

thanx i just found him and p.m. him. so from what i hear is that is a real good swinger huh i came up on all the parts (for the most part) and the bike for 300$ i just had to finish chrome, powder coat, buing small things here and there and put it all together........
That Swingarm is not like any aftermarket Z swinger I have seen.
It definately has my curiosity..It would be a rare swingarm for sure.
Your Jugs....
You are probably going to want to use the 68.20 jug.
The 68.6 is getting up there in bores.
Either one of the jugs are going to need portwork though. Someone "tried" to add the 2nd boost port and did not do a very good job.
I would definately get in touch with Jason Hall..
He has done 3 portjobs for me, among other things. His work is top notch, and he should be able to reweld and fix that port for you with ease.
This place is the best site to find parts and info on the Z, so just ask.

you're gonna chrome the axle? how much is this gonna cost? you can buy a gforce rear axle from rmatv for $199 and it comes chrome and extends the axle 4". its for a banshee but i believe the banshee axle and Z axle are the same.

ya ive looked into getting a new axle but i just dont have the money to buy it i need to buy and repair more parts than i want to so ill just use it for now but i do paln on upgrades in the future. as far as the cost of chromeing the axle not sure i found a chromer locally so im gonna take all the parts i need done. whats the best thumb throtle to use for a 39mm pw carb? also i read that you can boil the stock intake manifold to fit but what better options do i have?
