hows it goin boys and girls? i'm new to the forum and i have a question thats probably been answered a million times about the clutch's in a tri moto. i know they have a huge issue with slippin when you try to get the thing to move, but what clutch is slipping? the centrifical clutch looks almost brand new, but i haven't looked at the other clutch. would it be the other clutch causing the problem?
any help would be great
thanks

If it slips from a stand still, I would suspect the centrifugal clutch.

It seems like most of the 225dx's do that. Mine does too. I've never had to repair a centrifugal clutch. How are they repaired? The "regular" clutch has plates that can be replaced, is there some item that wears out to replace? Of course, I have mostly Hondas, and I've never seen that on them.

thats what i thought too... but when i took it all apart, it's looked to be almost new.. hardly any wear on it at all

Are you using a good ATV oil?

You can measure the primary clutch linings.

How - page 138

Table - page 159.

I've never tried either, so I can't tell you.

Everyone has a different opinion about which oil to use.

I use Valvoline ATV oil.

There is an adjustment on the side of the case for the fibers. Try adjusting that 1st. THEN, if that doesn't help, then take the side cover off and mic the thicknesses of the fiber plates and match to specs. I've never had the centripetal clutch go in the slip, but stuck engaged which makes it grab premayurely, not slip.
