Might be going to look at an 83 250r tomorrow. Guy wont go any lower than $1000. Says hes owned it for 20 years.Looks in real nice shape. Do these older 250rs still have decent power, suspension, anything i should look at? He replaced the clutch springs, original engine. New tires and new rear plastic.

Should be good, not as fast as the liquid cooled, but you can put on a CR480 top end, or full CR480 engine in it.

They have better suspension then the 81-82 r's, look better, i like them. i think they look like a big 200x.

I wish I had an 83/84 or newer, as opposed to my 82. My 82 has a fat front tire, and suspension isn't great. I also could only find parts for the 83/84 models, none for the 81/82.

By the way, is there any drop in suspension upgrades or will I have to make something work?

you can swap a 200x front end on 81-82 and thats a big differance. its a bolt on.

How would the power/speed of the 83 250R compare to the 86 200x I just sold? Would a nice shape 83 be worth a Grand? Does the 83 have reeds?

Also this wheeler has a Bassani pipe on it. Are those any good. Have a good sound to it?
