I needed rings (supposedly) on my new XR200 engine. Took the top end off, put oil in the cylinder and eventually it leaked past all the rings.

Now to get new ones, I need to determine what size rings I need/what size piston I have.

Cylinder isn't too warn as to need a bore.

Its definitely a Honda piston, says "Hon -space for wrist pin- da" on the piston, on the other side it says:

"L (under that) 446 -wrist pin- 1 (there is a small 'x' above the one)"

On the very top of the piston, one of the two grooves says 'in' and about it on the top says "9C5"

Any way to ID the size? Using a mic on the cylinder I got around 2.59" = 65.785mm, doesn't seem right?

Take the piston to the local Honda shop and have them match the rings to the piston, have them give you a part #....Beets

I was told it was an 83 engine, but have not checked to compare engine codes.
