Is it possible? Is this any thing like putting a 400ex carb on a 350x? If so I think I'll really start getti'n cookin on this. Also Didn't dg make a intake manifold that converts your standerd manifold into one of those rubber intakes?

Yes It's possible, I have a 37mm RMZ-250 carb on my 89 Honda NX250 powered 400ex. It takes some tuning, but Is a Great upgrade for any engine IMO. The leak jet (In the fuel bowl of the fcr) will need to be Very small as the older engine's seem to need a big quick shot from the accelerator pump. The leak jet restrict's the accelerator pump's bypass circuit. I feel the high velocity Intake ports of the new breed 4 stroke's helps the FCR work correctly, where the older engine's need the big burst of gas because of there different port desighn.

I think a better choice for the 200x would be a CRF150R carb, It's 32mm stock, and Is a bit smaller In overall size than the 250 carbs. Not the CRF150F, It would need to be the R model 150.

That looks like a 2 stroke carb to me. I see a air screw behind the slide! 4 stroke carbs usually have a fuel screw In the front of the carb (front of the slide). Seems I remember people haveing a hard time tuning those things on a 4 stroke. IMHO FCR's are Light years ahead. Very good throttle response, and Major adjustability.

The motor I'm is BIG for a 83-85 200x. it's going to be 258.8cc's.

Great info Jason. Is there a 30mm version of the FCR? I think that's the perfect size for my stock bore, stock cam, trail ported, 10:25.1, full aftermarket exhaust and intake, side project.
What do you think? Is there a 30mm FCR version or 32mm?
Thanks

I don't think so. But you most likely can jet it down to 30 or 28mm.

The smallest FCR I know of Is the 32mm on the 150R. I have a modded 150R carb that I bored to 34mm, and also have a Very nice 37mm from a 05 CRF250. I would sell the 37mm If someone was Interested. I have like 135.00 In It, I would sell It for that plus shipping. In 06 Honda upped the 250F carb to 40mm, so watch which one you buy because IMO the 40 would be too big.

In a 200cc, 4 stroke engine?
