200s spark issue

I recently picked up a junker 200s with no spark. I took the coil and the cdi box off of my other trike to no avail, I found a good used stator and got it to run for a second on ether, then it quit sparking.
The pulse generator looked like crap (wouldn't move and a spring was broken) so it was changed also.
What are the odds the other stator is bad? and is there a way to check them? thanks in advance

I got a 84 200M to go from one weak spark at the beginning of the pull to a fat spark every revolution. The solution was to wire brush the connections at the primary coil and at the bullet connectors for the wires. I think it was not getting a good ground.

Good idea justenough & also check forloose wires. Sometime the ground is the key factor in these issues.
