I have been trying to perfect the polishing method on plastic. I need the perfect polish for the last step. I have done the dry buff with the synthetic wool but you can see super fine swirls in the sunlight. there is a polish that makes plastic look like glass with no swirls, , polish is the key to a perfect finish. I have found this "Nuvite S Polish" used to polish aircraft, this might just work for the final step, any ideas guys? I have tried the rouge no luck on that. here is a fender i sanded and dry buffed with a synthetic wool bonnet without the polish

Has anyone tried this "Nuvite" . I know there is a specific polish that is used , any ideas? All I need is the correct polish and it will look just like NEW NOS.

search novus

they produce polishing solvents and buffing rags... i used to weld plastic and saw it in their catalog one day...

never used it but very often pondered how well it worked.

good luck dj

The Novus works well. Comes in 3 steps, #'s 1, 2, & 3.

Guys use Novus on the clear plastic windows on jeep soft tops, so it must be gentle and scratch free.

Have you tried using a foam pad vs. the wool? In my experience I have found that wool pads are actually a little aggressive.

Yes I have. Use only the "synthetic" wool with a random buffer only. I can make a fender near perfect but i need a polish for the very last step. All that is left over are super fine swirls and is pretty shiny but quite BILNG BLING. Here is a fender below that turned out very nice but swirls can be seen in the sunlight. If I can just find the correct polish I can make a fender perfectly new.
