View Full Version : fitting 110 coil on aftermarket Bandito frame

hey guys so my neighbor hooked my up with coil for my 1979 atc110 "the coil also comes from 1979 atc110" and im trying to fit it in this aftermarket Bandito frame but im no sure how it goes because it doesnt fit just right ? does the coil metal frame have to be touching the bike frame? or if it doesnt fit right can i just bolt it on and will that be enough to ground it thanks i attached some pics so you guys can kind of figure out what im talking about if not please feel free to ask question thanks i really need some help with this one

My frame had a little coil mounting bracket there. It didn't have any holes . Just welded on.

Cut some tubing spacers so its off the frame a little bit and bolt it in the spot your showing in the pic . Home depot sells the 1/4 inch inside diameter tubing .

Here's how the one on my Bandito frame is mounted. The 2 bolts go through the coil, get 2 nuts tightened to the coil, about 1/4 inch of threads, 2 more nuts, frame and then 2 more final nuts.
