85 110 problem

i have a 1985 honda 110 and when i put it in gear it sounds like something is grindin like it is not catchin and it will barely go i have it almost tore down im thinkin the front sproket is bad but i really dont know any suggestions any body i dont wanna order the wrong part thanks in advance

make sure your Lo-Hi lever was fully engaged to one side and not in between. what does the front sprocket look like? (whats the condition) does it do it as soon as your in gear without giving it gas or does it take some throttle to get it to make the noise?

i checked the hi low selector and it was good and i havent pulled the sproket out yet got to get a gear puller and yes you have to give it gas and it sounds like it is between gears and hardly goes any where its grinds real bad like it was slippin out of gear
