As the clutch wears, on say a 200x, does the clutch cable have to be pulled further to begin to press on it and begin disengaging it? I notice after I replaced my clutch cable, its still pretty close to the end of adjustment to have 3/8 to 3/4 free play. Wondering if this situation arises out of the clutch discs wearing thinner. Still works great though. Part of the reason I changed the cable was because I thought it had stretched and might fail soon.

the clutch actually pushes against the disks and plates seperating them.so as the disk get thinner the farther they have to go.also as the springs get weaker the more they get compressed the farther youll have to go.
