View Full Version : Any way to fix dryed/cracked finders????

I found a bike with good finders but they are weatherd they have finger print like cracks (like they are drying out) is ther any way to fix them????

nope, just replace them. theose lil cracks in time get more and more brittle and turn into real thu cracks. it comes from being left out side for along time and sun and all the elements hitting it for extended periods of time

find some new ones from somewhere.

thats what I figured That sucks cause they are 200s finders that are not broken and have all the mud flaps and tool box lid that are all in good shape

It all depends on how brittle they are. You can use Armor All and steel wool and bring them back to a cherry finish if they are not in to bad of shape. I have done it to plastic fenders that are over 35 years old and looked like hell. It is time consuming but worth it to keep the original and not buy new ones.

Do you have a picture of them?

I'd try wet sanding them depending on how they look. That can work out really well sometimes.
