seems like i aint happy unless my trikes are spotless. prob is, i also ride them alot. if i load em on the trailer and make the 60 second drive to the carwash it costs me $6 to get all 3 trikes really clean. what do you guys do? obviously im talking about the riders not the show bikes. i guess it doesnt help when the mud down here is really coliche (sp.?) and sticks like crazy. i guess i should invest in a power washer. still wont have that engine degreaser that the carwash has though.................:TrikesOwn

For me it depends on the trike, I keep some really clean and others I ride hard and put away dirty. Those get washed when I need to fix something.

I like to keep mine pretty clean. In the warmer months I pressure wash em after riding if they get real dirty. In the winter on the lake it really isn't a problem.

I keep my ATC's spotless because mud/sand will cause rust and can damage painted , anodized parts if not cleaned for long periods of time.

man that TRX is sick Casey!! Probably alot easier to keep things lookin tip top when you live in the SANDBOX !!

I like to keep my stuff clean!! I try to wash my stuff right after i ride, especially if i get into any serious mud!! It comes off alot easier when its fresh and still soft!! Not to mention what it does for the life of the finish + function of parts!!

I only pressure wash, I don't sit there and polish for hours upon hours. I am the type of guy that really does not want anything that high maintenance, I just want it to work the way I want it to work :p

I wash my race R after every race, its gets a full wash filter/oil change every race. It also gets a post race check over, tighten bolts etc. Then it gets a solid coating of silicone spray to help keep the shine/shed mud and dirt and generally give it a good protective coating.

Not clean enough. I'm really happy when I find time to ride it. But my oil is always clean, just not the outside of the trike. But this summer I'm going to give it some TLC. Right now I think the dirt makes it look better. It wouldn't really clean up much with just a cleaning. It needs some paint to be any kind of shiny.

if its muddy i wash it after i ride, if its dry and just dusty it could go for 2-3 months before i wash it cuz it only dust. i tend to not ride it all mud, normaly its from a stream crossing. i like the moist soft loose dirt in the woods, its like peat moss you buy at lowes!!

Clean it after long rides. Usually entails a trip to the car wash followed by full wipe down and wd-40 or equivalent put on a lot of suspension and moving parts ect for peace of mind.

I wash mine pretty much after every ride.

A pressure washer is a great investment! You will use it all the time... I have a gas powered honda, but i would probably buy a cheap electric one if i had to do it over again.

good to know. yeah half the battle is re-lubing everything that gets washed off.

My oil stays clean, the rest gets put away dirty.........

My only issue is road salt, THAT ruins all the coated parts in a week or so left unattended.

I don't have "show trikes" I ride them, beat the snot out of them but maintain them perfectly.

Road salt sucks. I have wondered what it would cost someday to get one galvanized like those U-Haul open trailers that never rust. It would be really unique too with a galvanized frame. Except if it cracked the fumes from welding galvanized aren't too good.

garden hose once a year, otherwise i ride the snot out of them mechanically though it is in perfect shape

I live in a pretty arid place, but I usually dont ride in rain. There is a lot of dust due to how my track was before it got destroyed. mostly clay and silty stuff. A good douche with my garden hose cleans them up, and I lube a lot of stuff before putting it up. I am an all out rider, I will leave the detailing because its not worth it for me. Road salt and mud have almost destroyed my friend's F100. Hate the stuff.

I guess I have been lucky. I live in a desert (both in Wyoming and now in Nevada), so we don't see much mud here unless you really go looking for it. My ohv's stay pretty clean, but just get dusty. I usually won't clean them unless they get really muddy, then I just swing by a car wash on the way home, or if I am at my house I just hit them with the garden hose. I am also lucky that they don't salt the roads here. I think it's funny that when I lived in St. Louis MO they would coat the roads with salt everytime it got cold, but we can get 3' of snow/ice here in Reno and they don't put anything on the roads, half of the time they don't even plow them.
