'84 200X and '86 200X is this a good deal??

I'm not sure how rare either of these two bikes are or much about honda trikes for that matter but i saw these two on craiglist from the same guy. "Honda ATC 1984 200X $450 excellent shape" and "Honda ATC 1986 200X $750 excellent shape". What do you guys think? I just got my frist trike this week and now i'm like scouring Craigslist... i think I'm addicted you guys...

cool, neither are rare, how ever 83-85 you will find way more parts for vs the 86-86 bikes. 86 is a better design but due to it not being produced as much as then 83-85 makes parts harder to find and cost more. you dont run across 86's everyday, you do run across 83-85 everyday everyware yet.

both have goods and bads abou them, the biggest bad with the 2nd gen i see is finding lots of parts of them since ebay is flooded with 83-85 parts and 1/2 the motor will cross with other atc's and xr dirtbikes.

i've always taken the older one i like finding parts easy and cheap.

I'd grab the 86. When I had my 84 200X my buddy used to walk all over me with his 86. Big difference.

Buy them both if you can. The 2nd gen are pretty hard to find. The only one in Michigan is going for $2500. The first gen are pretty common but that one looks real clean.

they look very clean, and you should know, those 86's are hard to come by around here for that price. If I had the cash, I would have swooped them up a couple of days ago

i offered him 1000 for the two but he was also selling a trailer with them and apparently somebody came and took the whole package

I wouldn't have even tried to beat him down. I would have just swooped in and snagged the pair. Those both looked to be minty fresh. The guy who who grabbed them will have them on ebay next week... watching the bills roll in... grinning...

It is a crime and a shame how much money we Ontarioians have to spend on a an ATC.
