Are they the same at all? Bike is 1984. Found one that looks clean, needs top end. Would like to use one of my 200 engines or at least top end to complete it without needing to spend money (maybe gaskets)

Thanks

And here is the dirtbike

My fear is the 2 carbs/head pipes, but if I use my ATC 200 top end, couldn't I just use my atc carb and pipe as well?

I had the same idea... I even got as far as trying to put the XR motor in my 200x, sadly disappointed.

XR200R shares a bunch of parts with 200x

nothing xr250 will work on the 200's

i own a 2002 xr200 and can tell you whats all the same, if your looking for a direct swap you need 80-83 xr200motors, they have bottem ends like the 200x and 200s's. all top ends on the xrs are the same from 80-83 and 86-02. no 84-85 stuff will fork because those motors were copies of the 350 and 250 motors those years which had rfvc heads. they also had dual carbs and ran better and faster but alot of them over heated due to people putting around.

what do you all need, i have tons of motor parts, for all these bikes that swap in and out.

oh and BTW, that XR250 is not a 84, its a 86 which is not a rvfc, an 84 250 will look like a xr200r...and they are orange.

Thanks everyone.

Oldskool - that one I linked (86?) will my top end work, or if not, think it's a cost efficient project just based on that one link?
And for dropping in a complete ATC 200 engine, will they fit: 83 XR200 and 96 xr200r frames, pre 81 xr200, and the 84/85 models?

I know the 84/85 models were based on the 250/350, but are the mounts/sprockets lined up?

Sorry for all the ??'s

Thanks
