so i bought a coil ( i thought was for my machine ) before i actually seen the coil on the machine, duh, any way i went to the part store which is now closed, go figure, an told the guy i needed a coil for an 86 200x 3 wheeler.
sorry i dont have a pic of it but maybe someone can help. the box says high performance emgo universal 6/12 volts part #21020029, and this number was also on the box, 24-71532. it says for points or cdi.
anyway i looks nothing like my coil, it only has one prong for the cdi wires to connect to and has a C shaped bracket around the coil. can someone help identify this coil for me? will it work on my machine ? what machine is it for? hope someone can help may b a coil in it for someone

well, uf thats really true, I should get one since I have 6 and 12 and points and cdi stuff all over the place.

Sorry but that doesnt help your present situation.

Is there a name on it you can google for specs?
maybe you can download a spec sheet or install instructions?

i think the honda cdi coils say cdi on them but my gf will tell you I am ALways wrong.

The only difference, if there is one, would be the trigger voltage/current from the points or cdi to flash the coil.

...and coils like to be grounded, right?

Just check and make sure it is hooked up right or it will blow up.

If it only has one prong, then the bracket is ground. Check it with an ohmmeter on low ohms scale.
